Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 6 - Hunt the Enemies of Sigmar

8th May 2021

There were so many options for what today's reveals could be. Could it be Age of Sigmar v3.0? Could we get to see some more of The Old World? Or, could the Thunderhawk Gunship in Adeptus Imperialis be a bluff, and we actually get to see a full-sized one today? I also pondered whether they'd announce something like Hasbro Pulse, where they announce big projects to gage interest, and it's only produced if enough people commit to buying it. Through that we've seen releases such as a new HeroQuest (I'll review this when it's out), and Jabba's Sail Barge. Could something like this work for Games…

Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 5 - Warhammer 40,000

7th May 2021

During the lead-up to Warhammer Fest we saw a number of graphics hinting at what we'd get to see during this week. So, as long as these hints continued to be accurate then it meant for tonight's Warhammer 40,000 reveal night we'd be seeing some Orks. The closer the time got, the less subtle their hints got! Waaarghh! So, the night started off with an Ork-y video introducing the beast snaggas.

We saw a couple riding squigs and a couple of the other models back in April, but now we got to see the new savage army for starters. From the sounds of it there may be new additions in the near…

Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 4 - Boxed Games

6th May 2021

For the first two days of Warhammer Fest we got the vampires we expected, and then got the new Sisters that were expected. Both of them had been teased during the lead-up through the advertising material that had been on social media. One of the other pieces said 'No Goliaths' so it seemed obvious that today would feature at least some Necromunda. From the roadmap we've seen previously we knew Q2 would be House of Faith, and we saw a preview of that before, and Q3 will be House of Shadows leaving Q4 as a mystery…

Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 3 - Black Library

5th May 2021

Today it's time to delve into the dark corridors of the Black Library to see what new stories will be told. This being the Black Library you'd expect this to be about books, and it was, mostly, but we also got to see some new miniatures. One of the most exciting announcements of the night for me was Gaunt's Ghosts - a new Astra Militarum squad based on the characters from Dan Abnett's longest running series, starting with First and Only. I think this will be great alongside other recent Astra Militarum releases such as Sgt. Ripper. This might just be the reveal of the…

The Witcher: Old World

5th May 2021

Coming this month to Kickstarter is a new board game from 'Go on Board', the creators of Titans and Valhalla. This is an officially licensed game for 2-5 players, and from the pictures available so far, seems to feature some very nice looking miniatures. What we've seen so far include a variety of humanoids, and plenty of different monsters - all of which are highly detailed. It looks like at present they are 3D renderings.

Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 2 - Warhammer 40,000

4th May 2021

For the second day of Warhammer Fest, the focus shifted to the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. After some great miniature reveals last night, they kicked off today's festivities with the narrative side with a return to the Warzone Charadon where more factions have joined the fray for Act II: The Book of Fire. Be'lakor being one of the biggest name-drops who will also have a full datasheet in this book. It looks like this will have a big focus on the forces of Chaos and how they will play within the confines of this campaign.

Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 1 - Age of Sigmar

3rd May 2021

Today is the start of Warhammer Fest 2021, the first time it's been virtual due to COVID restrictions on gatherings and events. To kick off the week-long Warhammer celebrations, they've started with Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It all kicked off with the revelation of the 'Conquerors of Undeath' miniatures - the remainder of the Soulblight forces we hadn't yet seen. We've been expecting more vampires since the most recent releases and reveals, and sure enough, Games Workshop have delivered. Death has never looked so good.

Conquerors of Undeath features loads of new characters such as Belladama…

Hobby Fest 2021

2nd May 2021

Usually in May, Games Workshop have Warhammerfest: a celebration in May of all things Warhammer. Last year it was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Nerd Princess got the community together to put on an online Hobby Fest featuring streams from all over the war gaming and RPG community. After the success of last year, Nerd Princess, MJG Paints, and Chaos Daemonette are coming together to do the same this year on 14th, 15th,…

FREE Deathrattle Grave Guard from Games Workshop

30th Apr 2021

Every month Games Workshop has a 'Miniature of the Month' that they give out free when you visit their stores (whilst stocks last). For the month of May, it is a Deathrattle Grave Guard. These are normally available in packs of 10 miniatures with 25mm round bases with plenty of customisable options which means the one miniature you get free could have a variety of looks. With the new releases of the Crimson Court, Cursed City, and the upcoming Blood Knight Cavalry, it fits in with these perfectly.

Wyrmwood's Dice World Record Attempt

28th Apr 2021

If you paint miniatures, then chances are you doing so for a game that also involves dice. There are so many fantastically designed dice out there from different brands. Two of the well-known brands have gotten together for a Kickstarter project that is already funded at 20 times more than what they actually wanted to raise.
