FREE Deathrattle Grave Guard from Games Workshop

30th Apr 2021

Every month Games Workshop has a 'Miniature of the Month' that they give out free when you visit their stores (whilst stocks last). For the month of May, it is a Deathrattle Grave Guard. These are normally available in packs of 10 miniatures with 25mm round bases with plenty of customisable options which means the one miniature you get free could have a variety of looks. With the new releases of the Crimson Court, Cursed City, and the upcoming Blood Knight Cavalry, it fits in with these perfectly.

Wyrmwood's Dice World Record Attempt

If you paint miniatures, then chances are you doing so for a game that also involves dice. There are so many fantastically designed dice out there from different brands. The Long Narrative

One of the most compelling things about Warhammer 40,000 is the richness of its world. Many authors have spent decades on the world-building task, and even though it may at times be inconsistent and might not always make sense, it adds to the depth of the stories being told. Priming before painting is something that most people do. In the 'old days' it was a necessity to make sure that the paint would cover and stick to metal miniatures okay. Most of what people paint now will be either plastic or resin, and in some cases may choose not to prime it first. Personally, I like to prime. I don't think really it's as simple as picking up some spray paint and just spraying it at your model - you need to consider what you're going to do. The colour you prime it with will have an immediae impact on your paintjob - priming it white will make the initial base layers appear…

Review: Citadel Colour Spray Stick

14th Apr 2021

When Games Workshop announced their spray stick, I did wonder to start with whether it was a practical joke. It wasn't April 1st, so it did seem to be real, but with my existing method of using a box to spray in, I didn't have a need for this. Much later, once lockdown in the UK was relaxed, I visited the local store and decided to get one of these as part of the spend needed to get one of their monthly coins (technically medals as they're not legal tender). It was an on-the-spot decision, thinking that it would be worth trying out when priming my newly purchased Battle Sister squad. My line…
